• Using the technique to make a clip bigger from one of the last videos, zoom into the clip and choose a moment that you’d like to cut from the video. This is normally periods of long breath, erms, buts, and errrs that bring nothing to the video. Then use the razor tool which can be used with “c” on your keyboard and just go ahead and cut a line in the clip. Brad said you can also use “q” shortcut to do the same - not sure how this works though. Remember you cut from one point to another and then just delete the cut piece of footage.

How to do the Zoom Trick?

This is sometimes called cut and zoom, fake perspective and has other names. It involves changing things up for the audience a bit by cutting a piece of footage and then going into effects controls and scaling the footage a bit so it looks like the camera is zooming into the speaker a bit.

Don’t go overboard though if you want a professional looking video. You start to see pixels if you’re not careful. This is how Mattdoesfitness does his mugging off of poor Luca. But Brad is right, it can constitute a nice little change-up when used properly and professionally. This is more for vlogging really but ahh well.
