How are the marks divided in an Evaluate the Usefulness Question?
Up to 3 marks for Provenance ( author purpose timing)
Up to 3 marks for Interpretation (accurate facts from source)
Maximum 5 marks between provenance and interpretation
Up to 5 marks for own knowledge ( facts omitted from source or context for facts in source.)
Up to 2 marks Historiography ( Historians views)

What method may you use to help you answer the question?
A-I-D
Answer - Answer the question discussing how the source agree or disagree about the questions topic.
Includes - Include facts from the sources and show how they are relevant
Doesn’t Include - You must include relevant facts the source doesn’t include ( Including Historiography)
How are the marks allocated in a How Much question?
Up to 6 marks for Identifying relevant facts from the Source ( 3 marks per source)
Up to 8 marks for Identifying relevant facts from your own knowledge.
Up to 2 marks Explaining Historians Views
What can happen with the Recall? Vary between sources
You could have 6 points of recall relevant to one source and only 2 for the other.
How to quote from sources?
Explain exactly why the quote is relevant to the question.
One way is by giving a relevant quote and then showing what this proves, in terms of the overall question.
