A
Lift is created by the wings
Wings create lift when air moves around them so you need thrust to push the wing against the air

A
When the air hits the nose of the wing it experience acceleration of airflow on the upper surface of the wing, which decreases the pressure

the lower surface of the wing sees a reduced air flow to the upper surface which produces high pressure

Pressure Difference
A
This pressure difference creates lift, the faster the plane travels the greater the pressure difference there is so the greater the lift

The lift has to overcome gravity to create flight
