What happens in the first reading?
A
The minister introducing the bill speaks to it in front of the house.

what happens in the Second Reading?
A
The bill is DEBATED. Then it goes to the Committee stage.

What is the Committee Discussions and Report?
A
The committee hears witness and EXAMINES the bill clause by clause.

What happens in the Third Reading?
A
The last chance for DEBATE. Then there is a VOTE on the bill.

What happens in the Senate stage?
A
The bill is sent to the senate. Follows a similar process. If it is a PROVINCIAL bill this stage is skipped.

What happens in the Governor General Stage?
A
The governor general signs the bill and gives ROYAL ASSENT.
