In the Introduction how is Luke 4 connected to Luke 22?
In Luke 4 when Jesus is confronted by Satan, after Jesus resists, Satan leaves him until an OPPORTUNE time. Luke 22 is this OPPORTUNE time

The Passover lamb was slaughtered between 2:30pm and 5pm, Jesus died at 3:00pm

When Judas went to the chief priests what does it show when the jewish leadership were delighted and agreed to give him money?
it showed that the jewish leadership were now in league with satan

in verse 10 it says “the teacher asks” thus the owner was a disciple
in the midst of the dark hour what do the disciples argue about and what enters the sacred circle
they have a dispute over who is the greatest and selfish ambition enters the circle
why does jesus call peter by his old name
jesus is implying that peter will return to his “old self before he was a disciple”
what happens when you fall away
you go back to your old self

for readiness and self-sufficiency because Jesus was going to Heaven
Though Peter and judas both failed and fell away, how did they differ?
Judas quit but Peter turned back
why should someone be defined more by their failures than successes?
because when we succeed it’s easy to be up vibrant and full of life. when we’re down it actually takes courage to get up and continue.
what is the cup jesus was asking God to take away
the cup of God’s wrath and judgment
what is acedia
a willful denial of Gods goodness and the goodness of God’s creation.
what did jesus pray through, and what did the disciples give in to?

Chief priests: represent religious leadership
officers of the temple guard: represent military leadership
Elders: represent civil government
