ORGANIZATION
Implies to the arrangement of human and non-human resources in an orderly fashion to make a meaningful whole that accomplishes organizational objectives.

Defines hospital’s business, its objectives and its approach to reach those objectives. (For Guidance/Pathway to the Goal)

HOSPITAL ORGANIZATION
- Governing Board
- Operates the hospital in trust for the community
- Responsible for establishing the hospital by laws, mission, board vision, and strategic policies.
- Selects administrative leaders of the hospital and delegate the hospitals daily operations and budgeting and has fiduciary duty to protect the assets of the hospital through efficient operation.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
- CEO (Chief Executive Officer)
- Reports to the governing board and provides leadership in implementing the strategic goals and decisions set by the board.
- Represents the hospital to the external environment and the community.
- Must coordinate the collective effort of the hospital.
EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION
- The leader of the clinical team and the major agent working in behalf of the patient.
- Responsibility is to diagnose the patients condition accurately and to prescribe the best and the most cost-effective treatment plan.
- Formally organized self-governing unit within the hospital.

MEDICAL PRACTITIONER
- Responsible for carrying out the treatment plan developed by the physician.
- Referred as “PATIENT CARE SERVICES”
- Largest component of the hospital.
NURSING SERVICES
- Number of departments that performs support functions that help with diagnosis and treatment.
- Medical Laboratory, Radiology, Rehab, Respiratory therapy etc.
ALLIED HEALTH SERVICES
Example:
Pharmacy - Purchases and dispenses all the medications used to treat patients in the hospital.
CLINICAL SUPPORT SERVICES
- Non-medical administrative services
- Business services - Manges the hospital’s admitting and discharge functions, records, charges to a patient
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SERVICES
Administrative Support Services Component:
Advises the CEO on financial policy and long range planning, establishes procedures for accounting functions, receives deposits all funds received by the hospital and approves the payment of salaries and other expenditures.
FINANCE DEPARTMENT
Administrative Support Services Component:
Fundamental in maintaining important organizational statistics for administrative decision making.
ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT
Administrative Support Services Component:
Often where the patient first has contact with the hospital.
ADMITTING SERVICES

Information Services and medical record maintenance.
INFORMATION SERVICES

Interacts with all the departments in the hospital to ensure the quality and motivation of personnel working at the hospital.

DEPARTMENT HEAD
- Medical practitioners who specializes in interpreting radiographic images.
- Vital role is to give concise radiographic results
RADIOLOGIST
Gives advisories to the group of radiologist.
CHIEF/HEAD RADIOLOGIST
- Responsible for producing high quality medical images that assist medical specialists and doctors to diagnose or monitor patients injury or illness.
- Operates advanced equipment such as: CT, MRI, X-RAY Machines.
- Vital role is to show care, compassion and empathy to patients. They have extremely thorough understanding of the body structure.
