What is Universal Precautions?
Treat all persons & bodily fluids as if they have or infected with HIV, HBV, and any other blood borne pathogen no matter who they are.
What is Standard Precautions?
Treating all bodily fluids, secretions, and excretions (with the exception of sweat) as infectious.
What does OSHA stand for?
Occupational Safety & Health Administration
What is the purpose of OSHA?
To protect workers and to maintain the safety of the workplace
What is a Pathogen?
An organism that can cause or produce a disease
What is a Blood-borne Pathogen?
Organisms that are found within the blood and bodily fluids that can cause/produce diseases
