Q

What is Lear’s view on what Plenty Coups said “After this [that is, after the passing of the buffalo” - PFN] nothing happened”.

A

Expression of depression.

Since hunting and war were the primary cultural activities, once it was all taken away the culture of the people could not be sustained. Thus, nothing happened can be taken literally meaning that there was no further thrive of the group. It simply ended.
