What is PICOTS and what is it used for?

A

An approach to identify epidemiological features/elements in a study. Stands for: population/participants, intervention/exposure, control/comparison, outcome, time/temporal relation (of exposure and outcome (x-sectional, prospective, or retrospective) rather than study length or duration), Study design (epi study type).
