Holy Spirit Flashcards
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
Mt. 4:1
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.
Mat 3:16
Limited Commission: Holy Spirit gives you what to speak. for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Mat 10:20
Miracles to confirm the Word: And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
Mar 16:17-20
Whoever believes in me, as[3] the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”
By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
Joh 7:38-39
Holy Spirit at Jesus Birth
The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called[3] the Son of God.
Joh 7:39 Notice the Spirit’s involvement in the birth of Jesus. He is also involved with our spiritual birth as well. Eph 1:13-14; Jn. 3:3, 5;Tit. 3:5; 2 Cor 5:16-17
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[3] in you.
Joh 14:16-17
When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt[1] in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:
Joh 16:8
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you. In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”
Joh 16:13-17
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[1] as the Spirit enabled them.

and who through the Spirit[1] of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God[2] by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 1:4
because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:2
The mind of sinful man[5] is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;
Rom 8:6
You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
Rom 8:9
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
Rom 8:11
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
Rom 8:16
because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Rom 8:14
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.[7] And by him we cry, “Abba,[8] Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
Rom 8:15-16
Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
Rom 8:23
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
Rom 8:26
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,
Rom 14:17
My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power,
