Ex: The traitor’s crimes were despicable, and he received a harsh sentence for his actions

Ex: Since the washing machine was defective and did not work, we returned to the store for a full refund

Ex: Because there was no air conditioning in the rickety, crowded bus, it felt very stifling, especially on hot days

Ex: The child showed an admirable sort of perseverance, and his teachers often praised him for it

Ex: The old abandoned house looked sad and desolate, and we hesitated to approach it
