Fate/Destiny- this fate as it makes Stanley go to CGL, restore his bad luck trail and find gold.
“There is no lake at Camp Green Lake. There once was a very large lake here, the largest lake in Texas.”
Transformation- this is transformation as it changed from lake to no lake.
“You may go to jail, or you may go to Camp Green Lake.”
Power- this is power as the judge has the power to give Stanley a choice of jail or CGL.
“If you take a bad boy and make him dig a hole every day in the hot sun, it will turn him into a good boy.”
Transformation- this is transformation as it explains the changes of a boy.
“The Lump wasn’t the Caveman. He was.”
Transformation- this is transformation as the other boys have now named him and respect him.(better than they did before.)
“Since then, not one drop of rain has fallen on Green Lake.”
Justice/ Judgement- this is justice as it is punishing the green lakers for their sin on the town.
“The campers are forbidden to lie in the hammock. It belongs to the Warden. The Warden owns the shade.”
Power- this is power as it shows that the warden rules the land and is not to be disturbed by the campers.
“I hate digging holes,” he said. Then he slowly backed away.”
Transformation- this is transformation as it shows that zero has transformed into not liking to dig holes and does not like this place.
I like to dig holes
Choice- this is choice as it shows that zero chooses to lie to mr. Pendanski.
“Since you’re are so much better than me”
Power- this is power as it shows power through sarcasm.
“Zero had helping him dig holes”
Friendship- this is friendship as it shows that zero is helping Stanley and Stanley will help him.
“He had no friends at home”
Friendship- this is friendship but it is a negative connotation as it shows that Stanley had no friends.
“You are released pursuant to an order from the judge.”
Justice/ Judgement- this is showing judgement as it shows that the judge released Stanley in the name of the law.
“The fear made him dizzy.”
Power- this is power as it shows that the power took over him and made him extremely fearful and dizzy
“No one ever says ‘No’ to Charles Walker!”
Power- this is showing power because it shows that everyone respects and obeys Charles.
