How are poverty and AIDS related?

A

Vulnerability and risk factors - Limited healthcare access, lack of education and awareness, High-risk behaviors

Healthcare costs and loss of income - cost of treatment can further strain financially disadvantaged people.

Social and structural factors- women and girls, particularly those in impoverished communities are at higher risk further to gbv, economic dependency on men etc. - stigma behind aids.
