Q

Use an analogy for what an armswing should look like.

A

Should look like a whip. If you develop enough stretch and velocity, the arm should follow through to your waist very quickly.

Q

What are the 4 most common errors with the outside hitter spiking approach?

A
  1. Constant Speed Approach (makes adjustment difficult)
  2. Approach is directed into the court rather than into the antenna (ball passes them on a perfect set)
  3. Small step close (player will broad jump, lose momentum, or have a large 4th step losing jump height)
  4. Upright trunk (May cause issues with trunk extension for the armswing)
