A
  • Speeches were carefully thought out & rehearsed, starting quietly, building tension towards a frenzied rage rant
  • His body language was important to his appeal, he would lean forwords and draw his audience in. Near the end of his speeches he would wave his hands the in air vigorously
  • had publicity photos and paintings showing him as an orator

-In January 1923, German economy worsens, French troops march into Ruhrta and over German business
- Germans who resisted were imprisoned and deported
- Weimar seemed unable to solve issue, German people saw governmentas weak and powerless
-In November 1923 Hitler saw an opportunity to take power (peak hyperinflation)

A

It removed the opposition.

-In May 1932, Hitler attacked 2 main rivals using the SA, destroyed SDP
and KDP newspapers and removed their funds.
-In July 1932, Hitler banned all other parties, forming a one party state.
-He broke into trade unions and arrested trade union officials
-During elections you could only vote Nazi

A

30th June 1934, leaders of the SA and Röhm are invited to a hotel in Badweisse and shot and arrested them.

Hitler wanted the real support of the army, the SA are more loyal to Röhm who is more socialist and an enemy of Hitler. He makes the army swear an oath of loyalty
