What’s the Treaty of Versailles?
The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty signed by Germany and the Allies.
What were the Terms of the Treaty of Versailles?
The terms were that Germany had to pay for damage, lose territory, and give up all of its overseas colonies.
How did the treaty of Versailles contribute to Hitler’s rise to power?
Many people in Germany hated the new government, (the Weimar Republic) for accepting it. The nazi’s took advantage of this.
What is communism?
A type of government where no one owns anything and everyone shares their wealth.
How did communism contribute to Hitler’s rise to power?
The people of Germany such as farmers and business owners were scared that the communists would take their land like in the Soviet Union. The Nazis also hated communists.
What economic difficulties did Germany face?
Germany suffered the effects of the Great Depression. Loads of people were unemployed and extremely short on money and there was inflation.

Because of the unemployment and money shortage, support for political parties like the Nazis and communists grew.
