Describe what happened at the Disarmament Conference…
In 1932 Hitler asked all the other countries in the League to disarm to his level. When the other countries refused to, Hitler left the conference I’m July. Then in October 1933 Hitler withdrew from the league and the conference altogether.
What was the Non-Aggression pact with Poland?
In January 1934 Hitler signed the non-aggression pact with Poland, which strengthened his relationship with Poland and displayed that he wasn’t aggressive.
How did Hitler rearm Germany from 1933?

Describe the demilitarisation if the Rhineland…
In 1936 Hitler remilitarised the Rhineland. On the 7th March he moved German troops and the police force into the Rhineland. There were only 32000 German troops and the allies had far more troops so could’ve stopped Hitler but they did nothing to stop them bea cause they were preoccupied with Absynnia.
Describe the Anschluss with Austria…
In 1934 German nazis killed Englebert Dolfuss and attempted to take over Austria, but were stopped by Dolfuss’ successor Kurt von Schuschnigg. However, when the Spanish civil war broke out in 1935, Hitler and Mussolini formed an alliance 1936, which Japan soon joined (anti Comintern). In January 1938, Schuschnigg discovered that the nazis in Austria were trying takeover and asked Hitler for help. Hitler then ordered Schuschnigg to put nazis in power, such as Arthur Seyss-Inquart, the nazi leader in Austria. Schuschnigg then decided to hold a plebiscite, and fearing that he might lose, Hitler blocked the Austrian borders and started nazi riots, causing Schuschnigg to resign, leaving Seyss-Inquart in power. 800000 German troops entered Austria. On March 12th, Hitler won the plebiscite with 99.7% of the vote.
Describe the return of the Saarland…
After 15 years of occupation under the LofN, a plebiscite was held in the Saarland, to see who would be in control of the Saar. When the time for the vote approached in 1935, the nazis launched a campaign, beat up opposition, and surrounded the borders. In January 1935, the public decided to return to Germany with 90% of the vote.
