- saw combat on the western front including the Somme
- won the iron cross second class in 1914 then first class in 1918
- got to lance corporal
What happened to Hitler in the army and what idea did he agree with ?
- got temporarily blinded by gas
- was angered by germanys surrender and blamed the polity and and accepted the idea of Dolchstoss
