Who was billy bishop???
Billy Bishop is widely known as the top Canadian Flying ace of the First World War, boasting 72 victories and numerous accolades. He was an Air Marshal and the recipient of many medals. During the Second World War, he was a key player in the implementation of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan
what was the battle of passchendaele??
a battle that was mainly aimed to break the german lines in belgium and relief pressure from french forces. The goal was to capture passchendaele and disrupt german basses. This also represents the horrors of WW1 as there were several cassualities (500,000) and harsh conditions affecting Canada’s history.
What were victory bonds??
A government investment Canadians would buy to support the war effort. They would buy the bonds with money and then be payed back with added interest.
What were the u boats??
U boats is a term used by german for submarines. The germans u boats played a significant role during WW1 & WW2, mainly disrupting Allied shipping and trade.
