Causes of gradual decreased vision
- RE: myopia / hyperopia / astigmatism / prebyopia
- Cataract
Causes of sudden, painless decreased vision
- Macular degeneration
- Retinal detachment
- Vascular occlusion (most commonly CRAO)
- Ischaemic optic neuropathy (ION): loss of BS to optic nā
Causes of FL/Fr
FLASHES
Scintillating flashes lasting for 20 minutes are commonly assoc. with neurological problems or migraine
Non-colourful flash, like a camera flash can be due to pulling of photoR, i.e. retinal detachment
FLOATERS
Vitreous liquefaction, sudden increase in number and frequency may indicate VD
