found in China; built in stages; purpose was to keep enemies from the north from invading

system of waterways that connected China’s two great rivers- the yellow River and the Yangtze River

vast desert that covers parts of Mongolia and China

built by Ming Dynasty; China

found between Japan and the eastern coast of Asia; Korea and China share the coastline

in 1122 AD the pope and new German agreed that only the pope could choose bishops but only the king or emperor could give bishops government posts; became known as the Concordat of Worms
