The Indian act is a canadian act of parliment that concerns registered Indians and the system of First Nations reserves
What are potlatch laws?
The potlatch law was enforced in 1884, the federal government banned potlatches under the Indian act and then later banned other ceremonies such as the sun dance
What events surrounded Manitoba and why?
The events that surrounded manitoba was the Manitoba act of 1870 that allowed manitoba to join canada as its fifth province. This act was designed for the protection of the Metis people rights. Manitoba was intended to be for metis people, Ottowa sent over several white settler groups which lead to the metis people unable to get any land for roughly three years. this lead the metis people to choose to immagrate to seskatchewan.
