The work drama comes from dran meaning “to do.” Greek theatres were open air. The Chorus performed in the Orchestra. There were 3 types of plays: Tragedies, Comedies and Satires.

This time period was also known as the dark ages. Christian Church disapproved of the theatre. Plays were performed in the middle of the street or on wagons. The actors were mostly male and usually wore long, dark robes.
