why was the change of direction in 1966 necessary?
meant people didn’t have to just train in ballet, company started to go wrong, no new choreographic talent, performing in bad conditions caused upset in dancers, high turnover in dancers, insecurity and instability or touring ment dancers started to leave.
What were the 3 new aims of the company in 1966?
1.to encourage the production of new works by new and established choreographers.
2.to pursurve as far as possible the master works which contribute the Ballet Rambert’s artistic heritage.
3.to give regular seasons in London to tour selected dates in the provine’s and abroad.

became a smaller company of around 18 dancers, new choreographers local abroad, dancers able to have new workshops creating new works, toured less-didn’t use big theatres to ensure they would sell outworked with a range of choreographers, equal dancers in performances, dancers training in Ballet and graham used to be more ballet but then eventually became more Grahams,

Norman Morrice became artistic director, they became a smaller company 16-20 and equal,Choreographers came in todo choreographic workshops e.g. Glen Tetley,Modern dance became more accepted

performed in smaller venues e.g. canteens, factories because wanted to raise the war effort,full time touring company, new audience wanted classical ballets e.g. Giselle.
