Q

Who is Joseph Lister?

A

(1827-1912) England
Introduced the high levels of cleanliness to surgical theatres and procedures
Focused on using one of Pasteurs proposed techniques of exposing wounds to chemicals. He used phenol (carbolic acid) soaked rags to cover wounds during surgeries, which vastly reduced infection rates.
