Jersey European Airways was formed and began operating regional services from Jersey in 1979.
1993
In 1993 Business Class service was launched, making Jersey European Airways the first domestic airline to offer two classes.

New brand name; British European.

In such a highly competitive new low cost travel era, a new business model was created in order to survive. Flybe was born!
3 November 2006
It was announced that Flybe would buy BA Connect, increasing Flybe’s route network and making them Europe’s largest regional airline.
May 2007
Flybe signed deal for 15 Bombardier Dash-8 Q400’s.
14 January 2008
Announces franchise agreement with Loganair, the Scottish regional airline, that will take to the skies in Flybe colours.
10 December 2010
Flybe floated an IPO (initial Public Offering) on the London Stock Exchange, with trading in shares commencing on the same day.
April 2011
£13 million Training Academy officially opened by Rt Hon George Osborne MP.
May 2013
It was reported that Flybe had sold its slots at Gatwick airport to Easyjet for £20m
August 2013
Saad Hammad appointed Chief Executive Officer. Jim French takes on the role of Non Executive Chairman.
March 2014
In March 2014, it was announced that Flybe would undergo a major brand refresh. This new scheme included a new purple aircraft livery and new interior features.
October 2014
launch domestic and international flights from London City from 27 October 2014 after signing a five-year deal with the Docklands Airport.
March 2015
New base opens at Cardiff with 2 existing E195 based there.
April 2015
60% Flybe Finland stake sold to Finnair in April 2015 and renamed Nordic Regional Airlinesin.
