Where they would uses multiple crop areas to make farming a lot more effective. One crop would be empty and two would have crops.
Why did they have some crops empty?
To recover the lands fertility.

Bread, cheese, porridge and some vegetables.
What food did the wealthy eat?
Lots of meat - deer, rabbits, doves, peacocks and a lot of bread
Why did the wealthy not eat vegetables
Because they thought of them as lower class foods.
