A person who agrees to work without pay for a number of years in exchange for passage to America

A document that explains how a group will be governed
Indigenous Groups
People whose ancestors were the earliest known inhabitants of a particular place
New England Colonies
The colonies located in the northeast, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island
Middle colonies
The colonies located between New England and the south; they included Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania
Southern colonies
The southernmost colonies, including Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia
Puritan
A member of a protestant religious group in New England
Quaker
A member of a religious group known as the Quakers; they believed that anyone could talk to God directly ( without the help of a priest or minister)
Plantation
A large farm used to produce cash crops like tobacco and cotton
