The unions strategy for the civil war. The plan was that they were going to block southern ports.
Why didn’t Lincoln want Maryland to get involved
He didn’t want Maryland to secede because it was next to Washington DC, and Lincoln didn’t want the capital to be surrounded by slave states
What is the fugitive slave law
To prevent runaway slaves, white people were now allowed to turn in a black person that was believed to be a runaway. If the African American was found to be a slave, the white person would gain $10. If they were found innocent, the white person would gain $5.
