What are roundhouses?
Homes for the people of the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age periods.
What happened in the Iron Age?
People still leaved in the roundhouses, but learned how to make weapons and defend sites called “Hill forts”.
One hill forts is Maiden castle found in Dorset.

They stayed for 400 years. They built roads and public buildings, created a structure of laws and introduced new plants and animals. On the 3rd and 4th centuries Christian communities started.

They had to protect some other area of their vast empire.

By AD600 Other tribes from Northern Europe invaded England.
The Jutes, the angles and the Saxons.

The Anglo-Saxon did not reach Scotland, Ireland or wales.

Anglo-Saxon where not Christians but during their time missionaries came to preach Christianity into Britain.

In the period after the Norman conquest up until 1485. It is a time of almost constant war.
What was “the crusades”?
War in which the European Christians fought for the control of the Holy Land.
What was the long war between England and France called?
The Hundred Years’ War. Middle ages, 1300/1400
When did the Black Death came to Britain?
In 1348.
One third of the population died.
