The Boston Massacure
A random massacre of 5 colonists on the 5th of March in 1770
The Quartering Act
Ty act passed in which the colonists had to house soldiers without their consent.
The sugar act
A tax that placed taxes on sugar, wine, coffee, and indigo. The government did this without the colonists consent.
Thomas Paine
He is a patriot that produced a piece called Common Sense. Later he writes about independent which influences colonists to be Patriots and to fight for independence.
The Boston Tea Party
A group of colonists disgusted themselves as native Americans boarded ships and dumped all of the tea into the harbor to protest against the taxes and parliament.
Boycott
Colonists started to protest by boycotting taxed goods from the British, this meant no one were spending money on British goods.
Sons of Liberty
These hardcore patriots helped assemble many protests to help protect the rights of many colonists.
The Townshend Acts
A series of taxes were passed n Britain that affected glass, lead, paper, paints, and tea. The colonists then revolted resulting in Britain sending troops to the colonies and taking away the taxes on everything but tea.
The Stamp Act
This was an act passed by Britain that put a stamp on important documents such as newspapers, pamphlets, and legal documents. This was the colonists first step into freeing themselves from Britian.
The proclamation of 1763
Probits any English settlement west of the appellation mountains and requires those who already were settled there to move east to help ease tensions of the native Americans.
No Taxation without representation
The colonists were getting made because they were being taxed with out their consent by the British.
Tyrant
A ruler who abuses their rights to become unfair or unjust.
Mercantalism
Control of markets and raw materials
Civil disobedience
Denial to follow laws and pay taxes in the form of peaceful protest
Tyranny
A state that is ruled by a tyrant or absolute ruler
