Legal basis of nurse anesthesia practice?
It is the practice of nursing when performed by a nurse. Know how legislative (law making), executive (execution of laws, administrative agencies), and judicial (judges laws; court decisions) branches affect the footholds we have gained thus far.
Distinguish between civil and criminal law
Civil: between private parties (plaintiff v. defendant; ruled in favor of one party or the other)
Criminal: between private party and government (State v. person, the People v. person; ruling is guilty or not guilty)
What makes a person an expert witness?
Can provide definition of standard of care at time of incident, qualified by the court, must testify in terms of medical probabilities, can not speculate to establish deviation from standard.
