What is history?
History is the study of past events, including or impacting people. This is done through the interpretation of evidence.
Types of Evidence
Primary Evidence - comes from the time period of the event directly
Secondary Evidence - materials based on primary Evidence
Problems When Examining Evidence
- Distortion
- Fragmentation
- Perception
- Bias
What are direct causes in history?
They are the one event that must happen so that the event happens. They usually happen last in a chain of causes, from indirect to direct.
What are indirect causes in history?
Events that contribute to the event happening and spark the direct cause as a whole. These generally include social, economic, environmental, and political implications (SEEP).
