Q

James I

A

He was a new king and was written for him as a royal performance on st stephens day. Leads to questions is the duke written as flattering reflection of him or a model for him.
He began his role well as a king settling peace with spain, having good intentions, he wrote Basilikon Doron in it setting out what a relationship between a country and its monaarch should be pressing moderation- being thoughtfull and avoiding extremes. So the play looks at how extremes playout.
