Histopathology and cytopathology Flashcards

1
Q

What is the difference between histopathologists and cytopathologists?

A

Histopathologists:

  • Interested in tissues
  • Biopsies
  • Resection specimens- from surgery
  • Frozen sections- real time diagnosis

A

used for cervical screening becuase cytopathology is generally fast
