What impact did the ID have on peoples lives?
The ID provided jobs for many workers, but this caused a mass growth in population in cities where factories were, which meant a lack of space. Sometimes many families had to share a house, or even a single room. Because of the rapidly growing population, hpuses were poorly built, meaning they were often unsafe and likely to cave in. They water became a problem, as the main source was the Thames, but sewage and other things polluted the water, meaning many people got diseases from it and they used the water for many aspects in daily life. The houses in the basement often had rats and flooded, there was poor ventilation and the cramped space meant diseases spread very quickly. The factories also polluted the air, meaning, that even breathing was dangerous
