Histology Flashcards
Lamina Propia
- Where is it?
- What is it composed of?
- What cells are in it?
- fibroblasts
- plasma cells
- mass cells
- beneath the epithelium
- composed of loose conective tissue
Identify these cells
plasma cells and mast cells
Identify (be specific)
Unilocular adipose cell
Plasma cells - what do they make?
antibodies
Metachromasia - which cells have this
mass cells
What cells are these?
macrophage
also identify the mass cells and macrophage in this picture
What is shown here?
Fibroblasts (nuclei in red). This is dense regular connective tissue.
What type of staining is this?
Osmium
What cells are pictured? What is their function? How does it differ from unilocular adipose cells?
multilocular adipose cells, function is heat (vs energy) and has lots of mito
A - plasma
- antibody
- arise from B lymphocytes
B- fibroblast
- mesenchymal cells
- prominant in connective tissue
A
What do macrophages do?
Phagocytosis, remove large particulate matter and assist in the immune response. Help in wound healing.
Type 1 Collagen
What is ground substance?
Colorless, transparent, gell like material in which the cells and fibers of connective tissue are embedded. It has glycoaminoglycans, prorteyglycans and glycoproteins.
