Histology :) Flashcards
What is the normal Ph range for a person?
7 to 7.7
less or more than that is lethal (boi boi)
the main function of the lung is to get co2 out
as
co2 + h2o = h2co3 = h+ (acid) and hco3-
enzyme is carbonic anhydrase
What is respiratory acidosis?
and alkalosis
Low PH (high co2) hypoventilation
high pco2
high hco3-
alkalosis
high ph (low co2) (basic) Hyperventilation (more o2 comes in less co2 goes out)
low Pco2 and hco3-
what constitues the respiratory zone?
the respiratory bronchioles to the alveoli.
what are clara cells ?
club cells found in bronchioles.
exocrine with short microcilli
secrete GAG’s and uteroglobin
detoxyfy harmful substances by using cyt p450 founed in their SER
can also act as a stem cell diffrentiationg into cilliated epithelium cell of the bronchioles
What is the stem cell of alveoli?
type 2 pneumocytes are the stem cell of alveocytes
clara cells are the stem cells of pneumocytes
