Iliopsoas (Iliacus and Psoas)

A

Origin: Lumbar spine (psoas), iliac fossa and ant-inf. iliac spine (iliacus)
Insertion: Lesser trochanter of femur
Action: Flex hip to 90 degrees (both). Flex past 90 degrees (psoas). When feet/legs fixed, iliacus helps to pull pelvis into ant. tilt. Assist with spinal flexion.

Sartorius

A

Origin: Ant. sup. iliac spine (ASIS)
Insertion: Med. condyle of tibia
Action: Hip flexion, lat. rotation, abduction. Assists hamstrings and gastrocnemius in flex. and med. rotation of knee
