HIP Flashcards
Name the 3 ligaments of the hip
Pubofemoral, ischiofemoral and ileofemoral.
Name the 3 muscle that produce abduction at the hip
Tensor fascia Lata, gluteus minimus, gluteus medius
Name the 3 muscles that produce extension at the hip
Short lateral rotators, gluteus maximus, hamstrings
Name the 5 muscles that produce adduction at the hip
Pectineus, gracilis, adductor longus, adductor brevis, adductor magnus
Name the 4 muscles that produce flexion at the hip
Sartorius, rectus femoris, psoas major, iliacus
name origin and insertion of psoas major
Origin : anterior aspect of vertebral bodies T12-L5
Insertion : lesser trochanter
Name the origin and insertion of iliacus
Origin : superior 2/3 of iliac fossa, sacrum and sacroiliac ligament
Insertion : lesser trochanter and also blends with psoas major
Name the origin and insertion of sartorius
Origin : anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS)
Insertion : upper part of medial surface of tibia, anterior to gracilis and semitendinosus
Name the 3 special tests for the hip
