Hip Flashcards
Highest part of the thigh bone that articulates with the acetabulum
Femoral head
Supports the femoral head
Femoral neck
A bony prominence on the proximal lateral side of the thigh, just below the hip joint
Greater trochanter
Fluid-filled sac between the gluteus maximus and greater trochanter
Trochanteric bursa

Acetabular labrum
Tendon that runs down the lateral thigh from the top of the pelvis to the tibia
Ilium and iliotibial band (IT band)
Combination of the psoas and the iliacus muscles; contributes to hip flexion
Iliopsoas tendon and abductor tendons
