Shiva is the destroyer. Hindus believe, he has an energy, called Shakti, that enables his to destroy and reproduce things.

Vishnu has avatars or incarnations. Most celebrated of them are; Rama and Krishna. He shown as blue/dark blue, because Hindus believe he’s like the sky. (Everywhere, everlasting)
