Solid white lines
Do not change lanes or pass. Mark road edges and boundaries between travel lanes and shoulders
Broken/Dashed white lines
Separate lanes moving in the same direction. Passing is allowed
Broken/Dashed Yellow Lines
Separate opposite directions; passing is allowed.
Solid Yellow Lines
No crossing or passing; marks the left edge on multi-lane divided highways
Double Yellow Lines
No passing if the line on your side is solid
Crosswalk Lines
Marked by solid white lines or patterns; stop before crosswalks. Yield to pedestrians even if unmarked
Stop Lines
Wide white lines across lanes to stop before intersections
Dotted White Lines
Indicate lane extensions through intersections or freeway exit-only lanes
Center Left-Turn Lanes (suicide lanes)
Marked by solid and broken yellow lines; use only for left turns. No traveling over 200ft before left turn is made & must merge with traffic within 50ft after turn is completed
