State 2 things you should do in wet weather conditions.
- Double the following distance from the car in front. ( 4 car lengths instead of two)
- Reduce speed
What should you do when visibility is seriously reduced?
Switch on headlights. Fog lights may be switched on when visibility is less than 100m.
What should you do when driving in snowy and icy conditions?
- Double your following distance from what you would do in wet conditions (4 car lengths to 8 car lengths.
- Drive at a slow speed in the highest gear possible.
- Drive slowly round bends and brake on the straight before entering the bend.
State the legal minimum tread depth allowed on your tyres.
1.6mm throughout the central three quarters of the tread width.
Can you adjust your mirrors while driving?
Don’t try to adjust while driving if you need to adjust your mirrors stop in a safe place.
What could you damage on your car if you turn the steering wheel while the car is stationary?
You could cause unnecessary wear to the tyres and steering mechanism.
(Try to avoid doing this if you can)
What should you do if there is a pedestrian crossing the road you are trying to turn into?
Slow down and give the pedestrian priority.
