What impact with there be in your performance if you have good C.R.E within the last 20 minutes of the game?
Ability to keep skill level consistent and at a high level throughout the match and at the latter stages of the game.
So I am able to keep possession of the ball for my team with my passing.
I can then relieve pressure for defence as I can continually keep up with the opposition and apply pressure.
What imact would there be if you have good concetration within your performance?
High levels of concentration helped me when performing man to man defence in basketball. This was because I was able to focus completely on the movements of my opponent and block out the movements of others on the court. This lead to me staying tight to my opponent and denying him space. When a pass came in to him, I was therefore able to put him under pressure and force an error to regain possession for my team.’
What negative effect does Aggression have on your performance?
Not controlling my anger negatively impacted my performance in basketball when the referee wrongly called for a foul against me. This lead to me shouting and swearing at the referee and getting a warning. As I was still angry, I started to lose concentration as I could not get my frustration out my system. This lead to me switching off when man marking and my opponent got away from me to receive a pass and have time to score
How does Aggression impact your performance positively?
Being able to control my anger positively impacted my performance when I was being told by my coach that I was not good enough at football. This lead to me channelling my anger towards proving him wrong. As a result, I became more motivated and determined and gave everything I had to fulfil my role and responsibilities on the pitch. This lead to me forcing my opponent into lots of mistakes as I worked really hard to put them under pressure whenever they got the ball.’
How does a lack of communication impact your performance?
Players who do not communicate can not help players in possession of the ball. In hockey, a winger who does not call for the ball despite being in space will never alert their teammate to their position. This can lead to their teammate holding on to the ball for too long, being pressurised and losing possession.’
How does the emotional factor impact the physical?
My inability to control my level of aggression in football had a negative effect on my CRE.
As my aggression level rose I would stop playing my position in a disciplined way and instead charge around the park, making run’s I should make, closing opponents down who where not in my position.
This caused me to expend unnecessary energy and negatively effected my CRE
How does the social factor impact the mental factor?
Poor team dynamics can be the reason why a performer does not recover when they make a mistake.
This would explain their lack of commitment to chase back after being dispossessed, as they might feel the team are critical when the performer does something wrong. Resulting in them giving up
Describe how you gathered data for the Social Factor?
TEAM BUILDING Human Knot – Groups 7 people In circle facing each other Join hands with 2 different people across from you. Aim untangle without letting go. Time it
Trust Falls Person raised platform 2 vertical lines – joins arms Faller – crosses arms falls back Repeat 3 times.
What are the benefits of using Human Knot and Trust Falls as a method of gathering data?
The activities are fun, and as such players are more likely to truly engage and get the benefits of the method
This method is time effective, and doesn’t take lots of time away from regular training
Develops team dynamics & communication as player laugh, joke and work together to find solutions.
Forces some players to take on leadership roles, and give required direction to teammates
Can be used to develop social factors for any activity so it is flexible and can be adapted to the specific needs of the team
No specialist equipment required therefore can be done anywhere at any time, efficient use of time.
Describe how you used Shadow Practice as a method of gathering Data?
Start at base Side step back court mimic OHC Return to base Adopt natural position Continual 60 seconds 2 minute rest Repeat 3 times Partner observe Provides feedback Advance – move different corners.
Having described a match analysis previously, now justify why you make these decisions (for example I played with someone of similar ability)
Player of similar ability
80 minutes match or/3 sets
Full court/my position
Experience observer
Justify why:
A fairer match – demo all skills under adequate pressure
Enough time to get clear picture of performance
More realistic to real game
Knowledgeable – results accurate
Deep Breathing is a method to develop performance for the emotional factor can you explain the advantages and disadvantages of this method?
advantages:
Mind – Body Synchronicity – time reduced when performing.
Boots confidence – fully commits
Simplifies challenge in front of you – eliminates distractions
Not time consuming – in game situation.
Disadvantages
Heat of battle – cant always be used as don’t have time.
Truly engage – don’t believe it works
.
Why would you make adaptations to your training number?
Boring / demotivating New level of ability Injury New weakness Partner Tactics No Improvements
What are the principles of target setting?
Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic – Recorded Time phased.
What are the principles of feedback?
Positive
Immediate
Specific
1 -2 points
Describe how you gathered data for the Mental Factor? (questionnaire)
In classroom Straight after performance By myself 30 statements 6 sections (name them) True / False answers Points awarded on scale 5/6 strengths 4-5 average 0-3area of weakness. Refer to desirable answers.
Having described a Questionnaire previously, now justify why you make these decisions (for example I completed it straight after my performance?)
Straight after performance
By myself
30 Questions
Sub-divided
Why?: Clear in memory – more accurate Focussed Large range – clear info Easier to understand meaning
Describe how you gathered feedback for the physical factor?
Heart rate monitor – intensity – constant feedback adjust speed of my run.
Rep drill in between reps – act on information
Match analysis at week 3 – highlight positive aspects of performance
Pre drill – only give 1 piece of info
