A

This image shows a commercially prepared starfish dissection mount with a portion of the aboral surface of one arm, or ray, (1) removed. The dissection mount shows the central stomach (2) and large pyloric cecum (3) that occupies most of the space within each arm as well as the smaller gonads (4). Also seen on the image is the ambulacral ridge (5) that is made up of a series of bony ossicles.
