Scenario 1: Vomit in airway
A
- Go through normal primary survey:
- Breathing check: Vomit identified
- Circulation: Pulse is present
NEXT STEPS:
2. Manual clearance (positional clearance to get rid of lrg chunks)
3. Attach defib leads (ECG leads)
4. Prepare suction equipment
5. Sniffing position
6. LARYNGOSCOPY
7. SUCTION (vomit in airway)
8. Triple Airway Manoeuvre
9. BVM (confirm visible chest rising)
- Repeat process until airway clear & gurgling gone
LAST 2 ELEMENTS OF SURVEY:
11. Disability (D): Pt unconscious
12. Exposure (E): Warm, pt is clothed

Scenario 2: Snore present
A
- Go through normal primary survey:
- Breathing: No breathing
- Circulation: Pulse is present
NEXT STEPS:
1. Attach defib leads (ECG leads)
2. Triple Airway Manoeuvre
3. BVM (confirm visible chest rising)
You hear audible snore = OPA
- Insert OPA & pop BVM back on
- Check snore gone & airway patent

6. Disability (D): Pt unconscious
7. Exposure (E): Warm, pt is clothed
