What is Health and Welbeing?
Health and welbeing is the state of a person’s Physical,Emotional,Mental,Social and Spirtual existence characertised by an Equilibrium in which the indvidual feels happy,healthy, capable and engaged.
Define illness
illness is a subjective concept that relates to negative aspects of HWB. It relates to personal experience of a disease or injury.
Define Subjective
Subjective is a view that is influenced by or based on personal beliefs or opinions
Define Dynamic
The health and wellbeing experienced by an individual is dynamic, meaning that it is CONSTANTLY CHANGING.
Explain how HWB is dynamic and provide an example
HWB is dynamic because it is in a constant change. Changes can occur slowly or quickly.
For example: A person may be experiencing optimal physical HWB and then contract an infectious disease making them feel sick.
Explain how HWB is subjective and provide an example
HWB is subjective because HWB means different things to different people according to their personal beliefs or opinions.
For example: A person with a chronic disease may feel they have good HWB is their condition is managed.
Explain how illness is dynamic and provide an example
Illness is dynamic because it changes constantly as a person experiences disease or injury.
For Example: A rapid change can be the breaking of a bone or a gradual change can be the healing of the broken bone
Explain how illness is subjective and provide an example
Different people experience disease and injury in different ways. Individuals level of illness may be influenced by a range of factors such as age, pain threshold, past experiences of the disease or injury or social support.
For example: An individual with a high tolerance for pain may experience a lower level of illness whereas another person with the same disease may have a low pain tolerance which will cause them to feel a higher level of pain.
Define Physical HWB
Physical HWB relates to the functioning of the body and its systems; it includes the physical capacity to perform daily activities or tasks.

-Ability to display resilience
-It is the degree to which an indivdual feels emotionally stable and realxed in every day life .

Define Mental HWB
Mental HWB relates to:
-The current state of wellbeing relating to a person’s mind or brain

Define Optimal health
Optimal HWB is the highest level of HWB that an individual can realisitcally attain at any particular time, taking into consideration genetics and different living environments.
Explain why HWB is resource?
(What is a resource?)
A resource is anything that can be used to improve or support HWB.
Optimal HWB can be considered a resource because it enhances individuals ,communities and nations to function effectively ,achieve their goals and improve their overall quality of life.
