Recurrent herpes tx (suppressive)
oral acyclovir/valacyclovir/famciclovir 1 to 2x per day based on number of recurrences per year

- tx with both IV acyclovir and oral antistaphylococcal antibiotics due to the risk of superinfection
Chronic mucocutaneous herpes simplex virus and varicella zoster virus
Atypical mucocutaneous wartlike or ulcerative infection that persists for 1+ month
- commonly associated with HIV even well-controlled
