what is a gene?
a gene in the basic physical and functional unit of heredity.
what is a alleles?

phenotype
was an American carpenter and sawmill operator, who on January 24, 1848 reported the finding of gold at Coloma, California, a small settlement on the American River about 36 miles northeast of Sacramento.

sex chromosomes
a type of cell division in sexually reproducing organisms that reduces the number of chromosomes in gametes
pedigree
A pedigree is a genetic representation of a family tree that diagrams the inheritance of a trait or disease though several generations
DNA
the hereditary material in humans and almost all other organisms
nucleotide
A nucleotide is one of the structural components, or building blocks, of DNA and RNA
mutations
A mutation is a change in the DNA sequence of an organism
